Liverpool – The Place to Be

Liverpool has quickly positioned itself as a property hotspot, becoming a beacon for privately renting tenants and investors. The historic city has enjoyed an eager renaissance over the last decade, kickstarted by its European Capital of Culture year in 2008. Since then, the city has come on in leaps and bounds. Extensive regeneration work is underway in several points throughout Liverpool, ensuring its future is as bright as it is present.

Culturally, Liverpool’s influence is felt not just around the country, but around the world, and interest from overseas investors is healthy. Since January 2018, for example, enquiries from Chinese investors into the Liverpool property market has increased by 160%. According to Mayor Joe Anderson, Liverpool FC’s recent Champions League victory (their first since 2005) could be worth £150m to the city, and the city will continue to draw in increasing numbers of tourists, workers, and thus investors as a result.

The Anfield Regeneration project, 1.3km away from City Residence, is an expansion to the historic LFC stadium that will surely draw in more supporters to the site, a positive for the surrounding areas. Aside from improving the seat number in the stadium to an eventual 60,000, the space within the vicinity of Anfield is being transformed into an attractive village locale, complete with a £10m hotel, cafés, bars, restaurants and specialist retail stores. Not only that, but facilities have been refurbished and built in the area, making it a great place to live.

Liverpool Waters is the £5.6 billion development that will transform Liverpool’s docklands beyond all recognition. Two million square feet of land will become home to brand-new urban neighbourhoods, bars, restaurants and prime retail, office and commercial space. The effect on Liverpool once completed will be unprecedented and unparalleled; bringing in even more students, young professionals and investors to this major keystone city in the North.

Another significant development close by to City Residence is Project Jennifer, a £150m expansion of North Liverpool. With an excellent modern retail development on Great Homer Street, it’s a great amenity within close proximity to the development. Again another attractive feature-point for the prospective tenant.
