The latest construction update received from the developer for Hollywood in Manchester states that the design proposals are now 100% complete.

 

Summary of Works Progressed

• Construction works were split into two packages to enable the commencement of works whilst planning permission for external alterations was sought.
• The first phase package of enabling works included multiple activities including internal drainage, structural alternations and some first fix tasks. These activities are all now complete.

 

Works Scheduled

• Phase 2 works began at the end of Q2 2019 following the completion of the enabling works and are currently progressing well.

At Hollywood in Manchester, a full strip out is now complete.

Plus, external drainage to the car park and a number of other key activities including the removal of asbestos. Phase 2 construction works will now commence.

• Full strip out has been completed.
• External drainage to the car park has been completed.
• Drainage connections and pop-ups have been installed on the ground floor for all the SVP connections throughout the building.
• More pop-ups have been installed to the beam and block floor.
• Internal structural alterations have been completed.
• Asbestos has been successfully removed off site.
• Structural details have now been submitted to allow the removal of the internal staircase.
• A structural design for the trimming of the roof truss to allow for the smoke shaft.

Design proposals have been developed and amended, construction packages are in place, costings are being evaluated and initial set up and surveys of the site have commenced.

• Co-ordinated design proposals are complete and have been developed with input from appointed structural, building services and fire engineering consultants.
• The first phase construction package is enabling works and includes internal drainage structural alterations and first fix activities. Final costs are being confirmed.
• The site set up and welfare facilities for Phase 1 works are complete.
• A refurbishment and demolition intrusive asbestos survey has been carried out on the building.
• A small amount of asbestos was discovered and is now being removed. Site surveys and instructive opening-up works have been carried out to allow technical design to progress.
• Trial pits have been excavated.
