Several works have commenced at One Baltic Square including foundations to Block A, B and E, the retaining wall to Block E and parapet steelwork. 

Other works progressed over the period include SFS installation, first fix mechanical and electrical, roof construction, window installation and boarding. A full programme of works has been scheduled for the coming weeks.

March 2021

Many tasks have completed including the installation of slabs to Block D, slab installations for mechanical and electrical installations and the substructure brickwork.

Window installation, lightning protection and internal drainage are just some of the activities commenced during the last few weeks. Roof construction is one of the next tasks to commence next month.

January 2021

2021 is off to a great start at One Baltic Square with activity progressing across all blocks.

Significant groundworks and removals have taken place on top of reduced level dig, under slab sleeper walls, lift shaft works, steel frame structure, drainage and more. The car park has also been filled up to the formation level.

Summary of Works Progressed

  • Groundwork has progressed significantly in recent weeks at One Baltic Square and the land has been cleared for Blocks B and C. Wagons are currently removing surplus soil from the site with approximately 100 loads removed thus far.
  • Blocks B, C and E received the reduced level dig in preparation for column foundation bases and bolt boxes.
  • Block D under slab sleeper walls have been completed, including the lift shaft up to finished floor level. Backfill has been carried out and drainage is also being installed in preparation for the slab installation. The steel frame structure has also made great progress in Block D.
  • In Block A, sleeper walls have been built and the fill level is complete which allowed for drainage works to commence. They are currently still underway with the slab installation to follow. Lift shaft works also underway.
  • Block E is up to formation level and compacted.
  • Materials have been ordered from the contractor for slab works including insulation, mesh and damp proof membrane.
  • The site car park has been filled up to formation level.

Works Scheduled

  • Cavity fill concrete will be ordered by the end of this week for cavities including the retaining gable wall to Block D.
  • Window drawings will be approved shortly.
  • Blocks D and A drains and slab estimated to be completed this month.

November 2020

At One Baltic Square, progress has been made to all five blocks.

Work includes the installation of blockwork footings to Blocks A and D, groundworks for Blocks B and C and reduced level dig to Block E. Other activities include fire protection, soil removal, metal decking and various packages and access finalisation for SFS, partitions, windows and mast climbers.

Since the reopening of the site, activity has been booming at One Baltic Square with steel work complete to Blocks A and D.

As well as construction works underway, a number of meetings have been undertaken and machinery sourced to enable further progress. There is now a significant schedule of works in place for the coming weeks.

Summary of Works Progressed

  • Blocks A and D steel work is complete.
  • All RFS metal deck loaded out by Evadx to Blocks A and D.
  • Raised Floor Solutions completed stud welding of the metal deck on three floors to Block D.
  • Machinery sourced such as a cherry picker to enable handrails and telehandler with extendable forks to allow upper level access.
  • Brick work retaining core works carried out on Block D.
  • Various meetings with subcontractors held and scheduled.

Works Scheduled

  • Target scaffolding to carry out handrails to Block D to assist raised floor and scaffolding around the lift shaft and riser.
  • Load out reinforcement mesh for RFS on seven levels including the roof of Block D.
  • Complete loading of the mesh to level six and the roof of level five.
  • RFS to complete remaining floors and roof to Block D.
  • Further 300-350 load outs of materials away from site.
  • Columns to Block A to be grouted and complete.
  • Brick work retaining core works can then be carried out to Block A.
  • Roof to be sealed in line with RFS completion programme.
  • Install temporary electricity supply.
  • Mast climber procurement for access followed by SFS and weather defence board to Block D to achieve water tightness.

July 2020

Workers are back on site, materials have been delivered and construction is back underway at One Baltic Square.

After a temporary break in work due to the Coronavirus pandemic, One Baltic Square looks amazing will the steel frame structure progress clearly visible in the latest drone photos. View the latest drone footage video here.

  • Preparations were made for the return of subcontractors to ensure all government guidelines are adhered to on site, including social distancing and increased hygiene requirements.
  • Staff have now successfully returned to the site and construction has recommenced.
  • Materials have been delivered including a large steel delivery, allowing for the continuation of steelworks.
  • The steel frame structure continues to be erected.
  • Progress to the superstructure has been made.
  • The installation of a steel lift for the frame in Block A is underway.
  • Flooring subcontractors return has been instructed and flooring continues to those blocks where the steel frame erection has completed.

January 2020

The progress looks amazing at One Baltic Square as the steel frame structure goes up against Liverpool’s blue skies. 

The steel frame structure installation is going well with multiple blocks in the development with steel erected to the top floors. Stairs have also been installed.

October 2019

Works at One Baltic Square in Liverpool have been progressing well, with groundworks to Blocks A and D now complete.

Other groundworks are underway for the rest of the site, with upcoming plans including the steel frame construction in Block D.

  • Demolition of Phase 2 is now complete, and the site has been 100% cleared of all surplus materials.
  • The groundworks to Blocks A and D are complete.

So far at One Baltic Square, demolition is well underway and due to complete shortly.

The site is currently being cleared of any surplus materials and once this is complete, excavation works can begin.

April 2019

Work has begun at Liverpool’s One Baltic Square development, and the hoarding has now been constructed around the entire site.

The asbestos removal phase will take approximately 7-8 weeks depending on access and clean air certificate issued. After demolition is complete, other works will proceed in order to prepare the site for future construction activities.

Several works have commenced at One Baltic Square including foundations to Block A, B and E, the retaining wall to Block E and parapet steelwork. 

Other works progressed over the period include SFS installation, first fix mechanical and electrical, roof construction, window installation and boarding. A full programme of works has been scheduled for the coming weeks.

March 2021

Many tasks have completed including the installation of slabs to Block D, slab installations for mechanical and electrical installations and the substructure brickwork.

Window installation, lightning protection and internal drainage are just some of the activities commenced during the last few weeks. Roof construction is one of the next tasks to commence next month.

January 2021

2021 is off to a great start at One Baltic Square with activity progressing across all blocks.

Significant groundworks and removals have taken place on top of reduced level dig, under slab sleeper walls, lift shaft works, steel frame structure, drainage and more. The car park has also been filled up to the formation level.

Summary of Works Progressed

  • Groundwork has progressed significantly in recent weeks at One Baltic Square and the land has been cleared for Blocks B and C. Wagons are currently removing surplus soil from the site with approximately 100 loads removed thus far.
  • Blocks B, C and E received the reduced level dig in preparation for column foundation bases and bolt boxes.
  • Block D under slab sleeper walls have been completed, including the lift shaft up to finished floor level. Backfill has been carried out and drainage is also being installed in preparation for the slab installation. The steel frame structure has also made great progress in Block D.
  • In Block A, sleeper walls have been built and the fill level is complete which allowed for drainage works to commence. They are currently still underway with the slab installation to follow. Lift shaft works also underway.
  • Block E is up to formation level and compacted.
  • Materials have been ordered from the contractor for slab works including insulation, mesh and damp proof membrane.
  • The site car park has been filled up to formation level.

Works Scheduled

  • Cavity fill concrete will be ordered by the end of this week for cavities including the retaining gable wall to Block D.
  • Window drawings will be approved shortly.
  • Blocks D and A drains and slab estimated to be completed this month.

2020

November 2020

At One Baltic Square, progress has been made to all five blocks.

Work includes the installation of blockwork footings to Blocks A and D, groundworks for Blocks B and C and reduced level dig to Block E. Other activities include fire protection, soil removal, metal decking and various packages and access finalisation for SFS, partitions, windows and mast climbers.

  • All foundations and steel work to Blocks A and D complete
  • Scaffolding edge protection including full independent scaffolding along Grafton Street complete
  • Blockwork footings installed to the full perimeter of Blocks A and D
  • Metal decking installation complete on Blocks A and D

  • Intumescent painting to Block D has commenced with contractors working bottom up and on level 2
  • SFS and partitions package finalised

  • North Cheshire Windows appointed and deposit paid for first batch of windows to be delivered to site

August 2020

Since the reopening of the site, activity has been booming at One Baltic Square with steel work complete to Blocks A and D.

As well as construction works underway, a number of meetings have been undertaken and machinery sourced to enable further progress. There is now a significant schedule of works in place for the coming weeks.

Summary of Works Progressed

  • Blocks A and D steel work is complete.
  • All RFS metal deck loaded out by Evadx to Blocks A and D.
  • Raised Floor Solutions completed stud welding of the metal deck on three floors to Block D.
  • Machinery sourced such as a cherry picker to enable handrails and telehandler with extendable forks to allow upper level access.
  • Brick work retaining core works carried out on Block D.
  • Various meetings with subcontractors held and scheduled.

Works Scheduled

  • Target scaffolding to carry out handrails to Block D to assist raised floor and scaffolding around the lift shaft and riser.
  • Load out reinforcement mesh for RFS on seven levels including the roof of Block D.
  • Complete loading of the mesh to level six and the roof of level five.
  • RFS to complete remaining floors and roof to Block D.
  • Further 300-350 load outs of materials away from site.
  • Columns to Block A to be grouted and complete.
  • Brick work retaining core works can then be carried out to Block A.
  • Roof to be sealed in line with RFS completion programme.
  • Install temporary electricity supply.
  • Mast climber procurement for access followed by SFS and weather defence board to Block D to achieve water tightness.
  • Block A scaffolding and floor installation.

July 2020

Workers are back on site, materials have been delivered and construction is back underway at One Baltic Square.

Summary of Works Progressed

  • Preparations were made for the return of subcontractors to ensure all government guidelines are adhered to on site, including social distancing and increased hygiene requirements.
  • Staff have now successfully returned to the site and construction has recommenced.
  • Materials have been delivered including a large steel delivery, allowing for the continuation of steelworks.
  • The steel frame structure continues to be erected.
  • Progress to the superstructure has been made.
  • The installation of a steel lift for the frame in Block A is underway.
  • Flooring subcontractors return has been instructed and flooring continues to those blocks where the steel frame erection has completed.

January 2020

The progress looks amazing at One Baltic Square as the steel frame structure goes up against Liverpool’s blue skies. 

The steel frame structure installation is going well with multiple blocks in the development with steel erected to the top floors. Stairs have also been installed.

  • Significant progress to the steel frame structure has been made across multiple blocks in One Baltic Square.
  • The steelwork for the stairs has been installed up to the top floors in some blocks.
  • More steel is arriving on site to enable further progress to the steel frame structure across the entire development.

2019

October 2019

Works at One Baltic Square in Liverpool have been progressing well, with groundworks to Blocks A and D now complete.

Other groundworks are underway for the rest of the site, with upcoming plans including the steel frame construction in Block D.

 

Summary of Works Progressed

  • Demolition of Phase 2 is now complete, and the site has been 100% cleared of all surplus materials.
  • The groundworks to Blocks A and D are complete.
  • Concrete has been poured and steel footings have been installed to form part of the substructure.
  • Blocks have been installed in the ground ready for the steel frame construction.
  • Installation has begun for the steel on Block A, while excavations have continued to Block E.

  • Steel is on-site and ready for construction on Block D.

July 2019

So far at One Baltic Square, demolition is well underway and due to complete shortly.

The site is currently being cleared of any surplus materials and once this is complete, excavation works can begin.

  • Demolition to Phase 2 is approximately 85% complete.
  • Continued removal of surplus material.
  • Site clearance is ongoing.

 

Works Scheduled

  • Completion of demolition and completion of site clearance.
  • Foundations to blocks A and D to commence w/c 8th July.
  • Reduced level excavation for the underground car park will commence immediately following the completion of site clearance.

April 2019

Work has begun at Liverpool’s One Baltic Square development, and the hoarding has now been constructed around the entire site.

The asbestos removal phase will take approximately 7-8 weeks depending on access and clean air certificate issued. After demolition is complete, other works will proceed in order to prepare the site for future construction activities.

 

Summary of Works Progressed

  • Hoarding has been constructed around the entire site.
  • Loose materials have been gathered and removed.
  • After the completion of scrap yard waste removal, the asbestos which has been identified on site has commenced to phase 2 of removal with soft strip complete.
  • The removal of demolition material from phase 1 has progressed.

 

Works Scheduled

  • Upon completion of demolition this week, the site strip will commence in preparation for the piling to Blocks A & D.
