Current Progress

  • Flat roof structure complete
  • Completion of structural framework forming external walls

Last month at The Summit, scaffolding and master climber access have now been completed. Also, finalisations to the mansafe system and above ground drainage are being made.

The wall and floor tiling, lift installation, and bathroom sanitary fittings are all rapidly approaching completion. Alongside this, work has commenced to the brickwork and insulation to elevations.

  • Fire coating steel framework is 95% progressed
  • Completion of structural framework forming external walls
  • Scaffolding and master climber access have been completed

  • Finalisations to the flat roof coverings including balconies
  • Weatherboarding has been completed
  • External windows/ doors and curtain walling has reached 90% progression
  • Finishing touches to external wall insulation and cladding
  • 90% completion of external wall insulation and cladding investigation repair
  • Finalisations to the mansafe system
  • Brickwork and insulation to elevation is 35% developed
  • Lift installation is nearly complete

Summary of Works Progressed 

  • Commencement of general fixtures and fittings

Externally, weatherboarding is complete and flat roof coverings and balconies are approaching completion. 

Internal works have progressed extensively with first fix plumbing and heating now 90% progressed, and all second fix works 60% complete. Kitchens and appliances continue to be installed. 

Summary of Works Progressed 

  • Underground drainage, floor slab, Steel frame structure, upper suspended steel floor structure and the internal staircase structure are all 100% complete 
  • Sub-structure masonry works are 100% progressed 
  • Fire coating to the steel framework is fast approaching completion 
  • Structural framework forming the external walls is complete 
  • Scaffolding erected and mast climber achieved 
  • The flat roof structure is 100% complete with flat roof coverings and balconies 95% progressed 
  • Weatherboarding is complete 
  • External windows, doors and curtain walling are 90% progressed so far 
  • External wall insulation and cladding is 80% complete 
  • The Mansafe system is 98% complete 
  • Core drilling and riser installation are complete 
  • The lift is 2% away from being fully installed

  • Partition walls, apartment ceilings, plaster finishes and first fix electrical are all complete

Much has happened since the first construction update for The Summit, with many tasks commenced and progressing well throughout both the interior and exterior.  

The west elevation is receiving a refit of cladding rails whilst a fire alarm system is being fitted throughout the development. Electricians have commenced testing, pipework is receiving alterations and bathroom tiles are being stripped ready for a new, superior replacement.

  • Re-fitting of cladding rails to west elevation underway  
  • Fitting of E.P.D.M (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) to windows on west elevation 
  • Insulation panels and cladding being fitted to west elevation  
  • Electricians currently testing previously installed wiring  
  • Installation of fire alarm system 
  • Re-instatement of pipework to communal corridors areas 
  • Alterations to pipework to bathrooms 
  • Installation of door casings to bathrooms 
  • Installation of integrated plumbing system units to bathrooms 
  • Installation of the hoist 
  • Stripping existing tiles from bathrooms 
  • Site clearance continues 

It’s a packed first construction update from RWinvest for The Summit in Liverpool with the new steel site boundary now erected around the site.

Many activities have taken place including site remediation, the removal of debris and materials, new bathrooms and kitchens ordered and building control checks to name just a few. Windows and cladding will be an integral part of the next stage of the build.

  • New steel site boundary erected around the site to ensure security of the development with 24-hour monitoring
  • Site remediation
  • Remove of debris left on the site by previous contractor
  • Clear-out of basement area
  • Removal of sub-standard materials left on site
  • Detailed and extensive surveys of the site taken by structural engineers, architects and contractors
  • Process of clarification of materials required for next stage of the build which will entail windows and cladding
  • Assessed all the bathrooms and kitchens
  • New bathrooms ordered to meet Legacie standards
  • Building control checks completed
