The Liverpool Giants are Back!
The incredible giants that soared to international fame are returning to Liverpool on the 5th October 2018. The Giants Liverpool spectacular will be the third instalment of the iconic trilogy that brought visitors from around the world to see these endearing and impressive puppets. The Liverpool giants will be covering 20.6 miles across the Liverpool region and will also venture, for the first time, over the River Mersey to the Wirral. Royal de Luxe, the French company who create and animate the puppets have called this final segment ‘Liverpool Dreams’ and the city will be out in force to welcome them back. The Liverpool giants 2014 event drew crowds of over one million and added £46 million to the city’s economy. The Route has been Revealed

Friday 5th October
On the 5th October, the sleeping giants will be waking up on St George’s Hall Plateau at 10:00. Walking to Lime Street, past the Bombed Out Church and continuing up Upper Duke Street and Catherine Street, this forms the first stretch of their three-day journey. Next, they will venture across Upper Parliament Street, heading up Princes Road towards Princes Park for a break. After a short break, when visitors can see them up close, the Liverpool giants will wake up at 4:15 and walk back into town down Duke Street, passing Liverpool One on Paradise Street and Liver Street, not far from the famous Baltic Triangle. The giants will then head to Queens Wharf for their first night’s sleep.
There will also be a giant on the Wirral who will wake up next to the Fort Perch Rock lighthouse in New Brighton at 11:15 and walk along the Marine Promenade towards Kings Parade where it will have a siesta. Waking up at 3:00, it will go along Kings Parade, Marine Promenade, Tower Promenade towards Magazines Promenade, giving Wirral residents a chance to see the giants on their own streets. Jean Luc Courcoult, the genius behind the giants in Liverpool enthused about the spectacle stating:
“The welcome we receive from the people of the city warms our hearts and we are excited about not only bringing a brand-new story to Liverpool, but also to exploring beautiful Wirral for the first time.
“As it will be our last giant show here we think it will be very special, and we hope people will enjoy our final farewell to the city which is our second home.”

Saturday 6th October
On Saturday the 6th, the Liverpool Giants will tour the city centre, going from Queens Walk to Wapping, then walking through The Strand, Paradise Street, along Whitechapel and Stanley Street. From there they will head to the business district, walking through Victoria Street, Dale Street, Castle Street and James Street towards Mann Island where they will stop for a rest. At 3:30 they will wake up from their siesta on Mann Island to stunning views across the Mersey before they then head along Canada Boulevard to the Strand, where they will turn around towards George’s Dock Gates.
Another giant will be in Liverpool, waking up at 11:00 at Canning Dock, where it will travel to Salthouse Quay, past The Strand, heading down James Street, Castle Street, Dale Street and Crosshall Street. They will then walk through Victoria Street, Whitechapel and St John’s Lane towards the iconic St George’s Place. Carrying on past Lime Street, Elliot Street, Great Charlotte Street, Ranelagh Street and Church Street, the giant will visit Derby Square where it will have an afternoon nap. Waking up at 3:30, this Liverpool giant will head to Castle Street and walk along Dale Street, past Moorfields station, Tithebarn Street and Chapel Street where it will meet its fellow giant for the first time at George’s Dock Gates. From George’s Dock Gates they will walk down Bath Street and Waterloo Road before a well-deserved sleep at Clarence Dock before their grand finale.

Sunday 7th October
On the final day of the Liverpool Giants 2018 extravaganza the giants will wake up at 10:15 and leave via King Edwards Street towards the Strand. One giant will leave via the docks. The rest of the giants will continue down the Strand and then have a siesta at Sefton Street. They will then head to the Strand and Canning Dock where they will bid their final farewell to the spellbound crowds of Liverpool.
