Miller's Place Construction Updates

In Q1 2025, the project now enters its final stages with key completion activities underway. Painting, tiling, wall and floor finishes progressed across the building, alongside external landscaping and public realm works.

Service connections have now been finalised, with snagging and defect rectification ongoing. Efforts are now focused on obtaining necessary certifications and preparing for client handover, with completion moments away.

Strong progress was made on the building’s exterior, with brickwork and cladding largely completed and access structure removal ongoing. Masonry and ground-floor door preparations advanced well. Interior fit-out continued, with final snagging and decorations nearing completion on lower levels and M&E final fix progressing on upper floors.

Joinery and partition works also made good headway. Roof works, including safety systems and waterproofing, were completed, and lifts and service connections approached final stages, keeping the project on track for commissioning and handover.

As the project approaches completion, excellent progress was made on the building’s façade in Quarter 3, with brickwork and cladding now extending across all elevations.

The interior fit-out also moved forward, with kitchen installations, bathrooms, flooring, and decorations well underway. Ground-floor partitions and final connections for energisation also commenced, along with snagging on several floors.

Great progress was made across the Miller’s Place site during Quarter 2. External façade works, including brickwork and window installation, commenced, while the internal works package also progressed steadily. Internal partitioning, boarding and mechanical and electrical first fixes commenced on all floors, along with kitchen and bathroom installations. 

In the first quarter of the year, the lightweight steel frame progressed to level 7, while further progress was made with internal and external wall installation. Metal decking commenced at level 6 and good progress was also made with pre-fit-out mechanical and electrical works.

First and second-floor slabs were among the key works completed at Miller’s Place during this period. Columns were also completed to the first-floor podium level, while the installation of the internal steel frame commenced. Great progress was also made with the installation of external and internal walls, as well as the precast concrete stairs.

Significant progress was made at Miller’s Place over the summer period with the completion of several key works. These included below slab drainage, as well as the ground floor concrete slab structure and columns which were completed to the first-floor podium level.

Installation of reinforcement continued during this period in preparation for the concrete pour, while the manufacture of the lightweight steel frame commenced and is expected to be installed over the next reporting period.

Over this period excellent progress was made on several fronts at Miller’s Place. The Piling matt was completed in late April with works then progressing to the completion of the development’s pile cap foundations and ground floor slab.

The process of designing the steel frame continued, while the fire strategy and acoustic reports were both issued during this period.

Great progress was made in terms of the design works required to enable the onsite team to break ground in the first quarter of the year. Site clearance also took place during this period with key works such as service disconnection, installation of welfare cabins and site hoardings advancing as well.

Pile proving also commenced within this three-month timeframe signifying a major development in the onsite mobilisation process.
