The Hive Construction Updates

Progress continued across the site during Q4 2024, with significant advancements in both internal and external works. Cladding fixes were a key focus, with substantial progress made in completing the façade. Decoration began across multiple areas, while mechanical and electrical second fix installations moved forward.

Interior fit-outs saw continued development, including kitchen installations, mist coating, and ceramic tiling, which progressed well through the building. The installation of essential infrastructure, including lifts and water systems continued, supporting the project’s core services.

Strong progress continued across the site during this period, with the steel framing system, window installations, and intumescent painting among the key works completed. Façade masonry, kitchen installations, fire-stopping, and hoist-apartment fit-outs also advanced significantly.

In the final quarter of the year, cladding fixes, decorations, and mechanical and electrical second fixes will be among the priorities for the on-site team.

During this period, significant progress was made on the external works package with the steel framing system continuing to advance well. Scaffold and hoist lift installation progressed steadily, while external brickwork also commenced. In the upcoming quarter, further progress is expected internally with the commencement of boarding alongside electrical and plumbing first fixes. 

In a busy period for the site team, the structural steel frame and edge protection installation were completed. Other key works such as scaffold and metal decking installation progressed, alongside the commencement of the concrete pour.

Huge visible progress was made at The Hive moving into the final quarter of the year with the erection of the steel frame getting well underway. External drainage works and the ground floor slab were also completed, as several other external works continued to progress.

Before the year is out, the on-site team will continue to advance works with regard to the steel frame, edge protection and metal decking.

This period brought the completion of pile caps as well as the casting of the stair and lift core walls. The formation and reinforcement of the ground floor area was also completed.

External drainage works continued to progress during Quarter Three, while the concrete pour to the foundations is set to take place in the final quarter of 2023.

External drainage works commenced at The Hive in April. This included the installation of the soak-away drainage system, while the team continued with clearance of the site in preparation for future works.

In a significant development, on-site piling commenced during this period and the installation of the first piles was completed by the end of the quarter.
