The Mill Construction Updates
The centrepiece of the historic Heap’s Mill redevelopment project, this iconic Grade II listed rice mill is being transformed into a luxury residential building right on the edge of the Royal Albert Dock. Comprising luxury Manhattan, 1 and 2-bedroom apartments, as well as an underground spa and stunning rooftop bar, the Mill is soon to be one of Liverpool’s most desirable residences.

Key Work Updates
Reinforced Concrete Core Installed – The reinforced concrete core is now in place, rising through the centre of the building and forming the main vertical circulation. Staircases and key structural elements have been installed on site. These precision-manufactured components support the next stages of internal floor construction and overall fit-out.
Major Lifting Operations Completed – Large-scale lifting operations have been successfully completed, with heavy structural elements and materials craned safely into position within the existing mill structure. These carefully coordinated works allow subsequent construction phases to progress efficiently within the historic shell.
External Scaffolding Fully Erected – Extensive scaffolding has now been fully installed externally, enabling continued façade restoration and brickwork repairs across all elevations. This access also supports the integration of new structural elements required to meet modern building standards.
Precast Concrete Elements Installed – Precast concrete components, including staircases and key structural elements, have been delivered and installed on site. These precision-manufactured components support the next stages of internal floor construction and overall fit-out.
Balancing Heritage and Modern Construction – The contrast between the original mill walls and the new structural additions clearly highlights the sensitive approach being taken. This careful balance ensures the building’s historic character is preserved while delivering a high-quality, modern residential development.
