Overall, Liverpool was ranked 12th globally for walkability. Florence in Italy was the top city, and Riga, Latvia, and Hamburg, Germany, took second and third place, respectively.
Liverpool’s compact layout makes it great for walking, with the distance between the city’s top five attractions being just 3.1 miles and only 62 minutes of walking time is required to tick these big hitters off during your trip. Insider Monkey included Liverpool Museum, Anfield, and Cavern Club as some of the city’s top attractions.
Liverpool was found to be safe, with a safety index score of 52. The air quality is moderately good, with a score of 33, and an excellent public transport system, including the Merseyrail underground network, also helps make this city pedestrian-friendly.
